Alison has been in management and leadership roles in the HE sector for over 20 years.  She is presently Pro Vice-Chancellor & University Secretary at Liverpool John Moores University, with executive responsibility for Corporate Governance, University Secretariat, Corporate Services, Organisation Development, Human Resources and associated disciplines. She is a member of the University’s Executive and Senior Management Groups.

In April 2007, she became Chair of the Association of Heads of University Administration (AHUA), the professional body for Chief Operating Officers and Registrars in the UK. Alison also chairs the Higher Education Senior Managers’ Forum (HESMF), the national steering group promoting Professional Careers in HE and plays a key role in the national Embedding Effective Governance initiative as well as serving on many other national bodies and projects in respect of leadership, governance and management.

Alison’s previous professional experience was at senior and Board levels in the NHS and, immediately prior to HE, in the commercial and finance sectors.
