Fergus Devitt is currently Director of Higher Education in the Department for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland. 

Prior to joining the Northern Ireland Civil Service he worked in management posts in the retailing and hospitality sectors in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland.  He has worked in a number of Government departments and agencies and has held a range of posts, including Head of Corporate Planning in the Northern Ireland Prison Service, Head of Victims Unit and Head of Procurement Policy.  He has an Honours degree in Business and Economics and an MBA.  He was until recently a Board member of the Simon Community Northern Ireland.
