Today, the Higher Education Better Regulation Group (HEBRG) published research on the costs and benefits of Tier 4 student immigration regulation. The most comprehensive study of the cost of Tier 4 regulation to date, the report estimates that the total cost to the higher education sector was £66,800,910 in 2012-13. It also makes a series of recommendations for improving Tier 4 compliance and introduces a cost model that may be used to monitor the cost of Tier 4 and other types of regulation over time.
